The Twins Had Surgery :(

The twins had surgery to take their tonsils and adenoids out and to put tubes in their ears. After an overnight stay at Texas Children's Hospital, we were fooled into thinking that they were "All Better"...Little did we know, 2 days later, Charlie would be back in the ER for dehydration and a bad reaction to the surgery. 2 days after that, we were back in the ER and then admitted to the hospital for 3 day until Charlie was able to eat and drink on his own. We had a pretty rough time trying to entertain an almost 2-year old while hooked up to an IV 24 hours a day! Our poor Charlie had to put up with 9 different IV's by the end of our ordeal.

I must say that we could not have gotten through it without the huge support of our family, especially to the 2 Grandma's!!! A big thank you to "Mom", Grandmother Berry for flying down from D.C. to spend the week with us-who knew how much we would need her! And a huge thanks to "Gigi", our Grandma Pruitt for going through the trying and stressful ER visits, hospital stints, and day to day healing at home! Also, thank you for the support of wonderful extended family and friends bringing us meals and being such a source of comfort!
It is a reminder to us how truly blessed we are!

2 weeks after the surgery, we are home and all is well. We don't need any more pain medicine, and we are now working towards getting back on our normal routine again. I have to say how proud I am to have such brave and most resilient children!!
